Review finds officer-involved shooting within KCSO policy

An incident review board convened by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office has determined that use of force in the case of a man who died in an officer-involved shooting May 10 was within the department’s policy.

A KCSO news release Tuesday said the unidentified victim had just been involved in a traffic collision at about 6 p.m. on eastbound Highway 58 east of Weedpatch Highway.
