The Bakersfield Condors had a chance to move into the Pacific Division lead this past weekend with a home-and-home, back-to-back series with the top team, the Ontario Reign.

Two wins in regulation time would have put the Condors into the top spot for the first time all season. Instead, Ontario came to Dignity Health Arena on Friday, won 4-3 in a game that ended with a flurry of goals in a close contest. On Saturday on the road, the Condors let a two-goal lead in the opening period slip away, and Koehn Ziemmer had a natural hat trick in another 4-3 loss.
