A 57-year-old third-strike inmate was granted parole May 27, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office, which opposed his release.

It said in a news release Friday that Steven Wade Rogers was convicted Oct. 28, 1998 of two counts of first-degree residential burglary and felony reckless evasion of a peace officer.
