A Kern County inmate serving 25 years to life in prison for violent crime was granted parole last week over the objections of the county District Attorney’s Office, the agency reported Wednesday.

A news release from the DA’s Office said the California Board of Parole Hearings deemed 67-year-old Thomas Faulkner to be no longer a current and unreasonable risk to public safety.
